What you'll do
Bom Retiro literally means "good place to rest" and this might be a great place for it until 200 years ago! The success of coffee production and the construction of the São Paulo Railway Company in 1847 strongly changed this area.
Also, southern European migration which firstly interested this area, would be replaced by eastern European migration, mostly due to the 2 World Wars.
Later on, other kind of migration would contribute to deeply changing this area. Bolivians, Koreans, and Brazilians from the North East are now the predominant inhabitants of this area.
Together we will have a Breakfast in Bom Retiro, experiencing Korean pastry, tasting delicacies from the Balkans and drinking Colombian Coffee.
Where you'll be
We will start from the Museum of Sacred Art
Walking on Rua Tres Rios we will start our “Walking Breakfast” getting our first taste and exploring the area.
Rua Tres Rios was mentioned in this article from Time Out Magazine as one of the most interesting streets in the world.
Later we'll need to catch our coffee, and for this we'll discover the Oswald de Andrade Cultural Center
This tour offers options for vegetarians and lactose intolerant ;)
